Brondby's OKE AKPOVETA Not Thinking Of Relegation
Published: October 05, 2012
Striker Oke Akpoveta is refusing to accept that Brøndby are flirting with relegation, and could lose their top flight status if the team does not improve in subsequent games.
Brøndby IF, 10 - time champions of Denmark, are last in the Super Liga standings after eleven rounds of games played. This weekend, the club welcomes in-form AaB to the Brøndby Stadium.
''We are just on a bad run and things will definitely pick up in the course of the season. Also, we have been unlucky to draw games we ought to have won. I don't think the league table is a true reflection of our present form because in the last six games we have only lost once,'' says Akpoveta to allnigeriasoccer.com.
The ex Warri Wolves ace went further: ''Definitely three points against AaB will be a welcome development. This will improve the confidence of the squad ahead of the match against FC Copenhagen. It is unthinkable for Brondby to get relegated, this is a club with a huge tradition in Denmark.''
Akpoveta, 20, has suited 11 times (five starts) for Brøndby in the Danish championship.
