GABBY AGBONLAHOR Praises Strike Partner CHRIS BENTEKE
Published: November 01, 2012Anglo - Nigerian attacker Gabby Agbonlahor in an interview with British media has tipped teammate Christian Benteke to be the new John Carew.
Both point-men led Aston Villa to League Cup success on Wednesday, scoring in the 3-2 win over Swindon Town.
Impressed with the Belgian's contribution so far following his move from Racing Genk on deadline day, Agbonhalor believes Benteke can endear himself to the supporters of the club.
''Christian gives us a different option, he can hold the ball up similar to when John Carew was here. He can win a lot of aerial balls and he can finish as he showed at Swindon. It was world-class finishing. He is only 21 and can get better and better.
''People were surprised when he first came here that he is 21 with his physical stature. He is still learning. Game by game he will get better and better,'' Agbonlahor was quoted as saying by the online edition of Birmingham Mail.
Aston Villa are away to Sunderland on Saturday. Agbonlahor is yet to score in the EPL this season.
