Valery Nepomniachi Tips Musa, Emenike For Stardom
Published: January 19, 2013Former coach of Cameroon National Team, Valery Nepomniachi , now an Advisor to the President of CSKA Moscow on sporting matters, has commented on his expectations of the Russian based players that will play at the African Cup of Nations.
In the Nigeria squad are Ahmed Musa (CSKA Moscow) and Emmanuel Emenike (Spartak Moscow). Striker Lasinio Traore (Anzhi) and defender Igor Lolo (Kuban) will represent the national team of Côte d'Ivoire while Rais M'Boli will play for Algeria.
''Our African players have to represent Russian Football in the main continental tournament. Previously, any player that played in Europe was considered a national hero, but now all the teams that represent certain forces are made up of players who play in the Old World.
''I think Ahmed Musa, Emenike and Traore can become real stars of the tournament and return to the location of their clubs in good spirits and, most importantly, no injury,''Valery Nepomniachi told Izvestia.
