Official: Rabiu Afolabi Joins SonderjyskE
Published: March 15, 2013SønderjyskE have secured the signature of Nigeria international Rabiu Afolabi. The duration and the financial details of the deal have not been disclosed by the Danish top division club.
Afolabi, ex Red Bull Salzburg and Monaco defender, had tested with the South Jutland outfit. After proving his fitness to manager Lars Søndergaard, who tutored him at Austria Vienna back in the 2004 - 2005 season, he has been rewarded with a contract.
''I've got a fantastic impression of the club. Here's atmosphere and a good locker room, where everyone has been nice to me.
''The priorities are that the club should be in the Super League, and then we talk about the future prospects for the season,'' an excited Afolabi told the club's official website.
SønderjyskE, who occupy the 10th position in the Superliga, have conceded 44 goals in 22 matches.
