Sunshine Stars Dismiss Reports Lille Offered Money For Oboabona
Published: April 18, 2013Sunshine Stars chief Mike Idoko has dismissed trending reports in the Nigeria media (excluding allnigeriasoccer.com) which suggested that French club Lille had tabled a bid of one million euros for the acquisition of Super Eagles defender Godfrey Oboabona.
Indeed, Lille are interested in Godfrey Oboabona and this portal can exclusively reveal that the stopper's CV is being studied by the chief scout of Les Dogues. However, an official approach has not been made.
Mike Idoko told MTNFootball.com: ''We won’t stop the progress of any of our players and once there is an offer that is okay for the club and the player, he will move.
''This is a sponsored story and I believe someone is trying to push us to the wall as regards this player’s transfer because as far as we are concerned we are not aware of any offer by Lille.''
Godfrey Oboabona, 22, has been strongly linked with a move to Ukrainian club Metallurg Donetsk.
