Agent Says Chelsea To Decide Mikel's Galatasaray Move
Published: June 07, 2013Nigeria Federation licensed agent John Shittu has commented on speculations linking his client, Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel with a move to Turkish champions Galatasaray in the summer transfer market.
In Shittu's statement to kickoffnigeria.com, he refused to confirm or dismiss the reports.
Nevertheless, he has admitted that Galatasaray would have to table an offer too good to refuse if they are to lure Mikel from Londoners Chelsea.
''Mourinho's first order of business when he returned was to speak to some of the players, and Mikel was one of the few he spoke to.
"But everything depends on the club.
"He wouldn't have been one of the few Mourinho spoke to if he wasn't in his plans.
"But this is football, and it is possible that if the club receive an offer they cannot refuse, they might consider it,'' says Shittu to kickoffnigeria.com.
Galatasaray are looking for an alternative for defensive midfielder Felipe Mel, who is likely to depart the Istanbul giants this summer.
Obi Mikel, who is rated around 23 million euros by transfer market experts, has four more years left on his contract.
