Reading manager Veljko Paunovic has revealed exactly what Michael Olise must do to become a better player.
The versatile playmaker has had a banner season at the Royals and was recently named the EFL Young Player of the Season.
It has been much publicized that several Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on Olise, who has a goal involvement of seventeen (6 goals, 11 assists) in 43 appearances in the Championship.
Paunovic has advised Olise to learn how to deal with adversities and appreciate himself more in order to take his game to another level.
"He is almost picky in his performances. If he doesn't have a perfect performance, he can get disappointed," the Serbian coach was quoted as saying by Reading Chronicle.
"But, that is because he is young. He'll learn how to deal with adversities. That's where he has to get better.
"He has to also acknowledge and appreciate himself more because he demands so much from himself that sometimes he doesn't understand that goes against him and consequently against the team. "
Paunovic mentioned two key areas of Olise's game that need improvement - his goalscoring and what he does when he is not in possession of the ball.
"He can enjoy the game more and can improve in his execution, I think he can score more goals and have more courage without the ball.
"All these things he is aware of. We've measured his progress together. Huge credit to him, he has done great."
The Nigeria Football Federation have taken the first steps to secure the services of Olise ahead of the English Football Association and French Football Federation by naming the promising teenager on the standby list for the AFCON qualifiers with Benin and Lesotho in March.
