Rochdale, Peterborough, Crawley, St Mirren interested in former Nigeria U23 invitee

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with certainty that several clubs are keen on securing the services of 2022 Nigeria U23 invitee Tim Akinola during the January transfer window.

The former Arsenal midfielder has caught the eye after a string of impressive performances for National League side Woking, effectively putting himself in the shop window.

Rochdale, Peterborough United and Crawley Town are exploring ways to sign Akinola, with Scottish Premiership outfit St Mirren also monitoring the midfielder's situation closely.

Woking face the risk of losing the Nigerian-born player before the window closes, despite him being under contract until June 30, 2026, having signed a one-year deal last summer.

The Cardinals are keen to offer Akinola a new contract to fend off interest from both English and Scottish suitors.

Should a winter move fail to materialise, Akinola's suitors are understood to be considering a free transfer at the end of the 2025-26 season.

The 24-year-old has demonstrated that his talent exceeds the National League standard, earning five Man of the Match awards in 22 appearances in England's fifth tier.

A product of the Lincoln City academy, the Lokoja-born midfielder has previously played for Huddersfield Town, Arsenal, Al Bidda, Chesterfield, Gateshead, Dundee United, Dagenham & Redbridge and Solihull Moors, gaining valuable experience across multiple leagues.
