Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche has provided the latest injury updates on key players ahead of the club’s Premier League clash with Everton.
Speaking to the media, Dyche confirmed progress on several members of his squad.
"Taiwo is on the grass and doing well, Douglas Luiz is close to getting back to training with us, Angus Gunn a bit delayed on that but getting better," Dyche told reporters in his pre-match press conference.
Regarding Ola Aina, Dyche added: "Ola Aina still a bit of time yet."
Aina is currently recovering from a hamstring injury he sustained during the opening minutes of Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against South Africa in September.
The fullback will not play for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League until January 2026 as he was not registered for the competition following the close of the summer transfer window.
Awoniyi, who has been sidelined for three games due to a muscular injury, is also on the road to recovery.
Dyche confirmed that the striker is participating in light training on the grass as he continues his rehabilitation process.
Despite being inactive since September, Ola Aina has been included in Nigeria coach Eric Chelle’s 54-man provisional roster ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Morocco later this month. Awoniyi has also been named in the provisional squad.
