Kelechi Iheanacho, who is Nigeria's most in-form striker at club level heading into Saturday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against the Republic of Benin, has vowed to do his best to assist the Super Eagles qualify for the tournament in Cameroon with a game to spare.
Though the Leicester City striker was the last player to report for international duty having linked up with the squad on Wednesday morning, he should be the first name on Gernot Rohr's team sheet based on his current form.
Iheanacho revealed his new nickname, 'Senior Man', that has gone viral on social media as he he spoke about his expectations for the game against the Squirrels.
In a chat with Channels Television monitored by allnigeriasoccer.com, Iheanacho stated : "I am happy to be here, I am happy to be with my teammates. Senior Man is happy to be in camp, so we are all ready, we are working really hard to make sure that we win the games.
"It is not going to be easy but I'm not promising anything but I strongly believe that we are going to come out victorious in those games.
"Me personally I am going to do my best to make sure that we win."
Iheanacho got on the scoresheet in all the four matches he was involved for Leicester City in March, racking up seven goals including a brace against Manchester United plus a hat-trick versus Sheffield United.
