Chinese Super League club Shanghai Greenland Shenhua are on the verge of announcing the capture of Obafemi Martins from Seattle Sounders, according to reports.<br /><br />Shanghai Greenland Shenhua&nbsp; are in the market for a proven goalscorer before the close of the transfer market and attempted to sign Nani(Fenerbahce), Remy(Chelsea), Doumbia(Roma) and Radamel Falcao without success.<br /><br />Martins joined Seattle Sounders in 2013 from Levante and scored 40 goals and 23 assists in 72 games for the CenturyLink Field outfit.<br /><br />The 31-year-old previously turned out for clubs in Italy(Reggiana and Inter Milan), England(Newcastle United and Birmingham City), Russia (Rubin Kazan) and Germany(Wolfsburg) apart from the aforementioned teams.<br /><br />Seattle Sounders have declined to comment on reports linking Martins with a shift to the Chinese Super League.<br /><br />Photo Credit : mlssoccer.com<br />
