Out-of-favour Nigeria international Joe Aribo is being linked with an imminent transfer to Championship outfit Leicester City.
The Southampton midfielder has seen his first team opportunities limited this term, making seven appearances off the bench in the second tier of English football, logging 111 minutes.
Aribo was keen to leave the Saints during the summer transfer window, with a move to Saudi Arabia his preferred destination, but the transfer did not materialise.
After a summer transfer fell through, he was frozen out of Southampton's first team until November 1 when he played the final four minutes of a 2-0 loss to Preston North End.
According to Sky Sports UK, Aribo is joining former Premier League champions Leicester City on loan for the remainder of the season.
The Charlton Athletic Academy graduate has not figured for Southampton since their 3-2 victory over West Brom on December 9, 2025.
Since joining Southampton, Aribo has featured in 111 matches, scoring nine goals and providing one assist.
With his contract expiring on June 30, 2026, he has probably played his last match for Southampton, barring an unlikely contract renewal.
