Olympiakos manager José Luis Mendilibar will be unable to call on the services of Bruno Onyemaechi when his side face OFI Crete in a Greek Super League matchday-25 clash on Saturday, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Nigeria international has been suspended by the Hellenic Football Federation after accumulating bookings.
In what was arguably his finest outing in an Olympiakos shirt, Onyemaechi received his fourth booking of the season across all competitions in the 87th minute of a 2–1 victory over Panserraikos, triggering an automatic one-match suspension.
Previously tipped as a potential candidate to be sold or loaned out during the January transfer window, Onyemaechi has enjoyed a resurgence since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, establishing himself as an increasingly important figure for the Red-Whites.
The left-back has started six of Olympiakos's last eight league matches and was introduced from the bench in their match against AEK Athens.
Speaking to French media last month, Eric Chelle named Onyemaechi among three players who impressed him during the Super Eagles' penalty shootout defeat to Morocco's Atlas Lions at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, alongside Calvin Bassey and Bright Osayi-Samuel.
Onyemaechi is in contention to be named in Nigeria's squad for a proposed friendly against Jordan later this month.
