Super Eagles fullback Ola Aina has won Fullham's Goal of the Season award for the 2020-2021 campaign for his brilliant strike against West Brom, informs the official website of the Cottagers.
The Torino loanee saw off competition from Fabio Carvalho, Tom Cairney, Mario Lemina, De Cordova-Reid and Ademola Lookman to win the yearly accolade.
Aina received 38.7 percent of the votes cast to place first while Lookman finished in sixth for his goal against Sheffield United.
In a game dominated from start to finish against West Brom at Craven Cottage, Aina scored in the 30th minute to help Fulham secure their first win of the 2020-2021 season.
The Chelsea academy product scored a stunner with his weaker left foot to double Fulham's advantage.
After collecting his award, Aina said to Fulham's official webpage : "Thank you to all the Fulham fans who voted for me for Goal of the Season.
"Ever since I came in, I felt the support. I'm so thankful and I love you dearly for it.
"I appreciated your support throughout the whole season. It was sad that we couldn’t see you that much, but thank you so much."
Aina was also up for the Premier League Goal of the Season but he didn't win that one, with the prize going to Tottenham Hotspur's Erik Lamela for his outrageous rabona vs Arsenal.
