Super Eagles player ratings: Lookman Motm, Iwobi influential, Osimhen ends drought, Onyeka tireless

Allnigeriasoccer.com presents the player ratings for Nigeria following their victory over Tunisia, a result that secured their place in the Africa Cup of Nations knockout stage.

The starters

Goalkeeper

Stanley Nwabali (6/10): The Chippa United captain had little to do but was fortunate to escape a red card after a dangerous tackle in the second half.

Defenders

Semi Ajayi (6.5/10): The Hull City centre-back was booked early in the second half following a robust challenge on Hannibal Mejbri to halt a Tunisian counterattack.

Calvin Bassey (7/10): Bassey put in a solid defensive display and was composed when bringing the ball out from the back.

Bright Osayi-Samuel (5.5/10) : The Birmingham City full-back was unfortunate to concede a penalty in the closing minutes of the match.

Bruno Onyeamachi (6.5/10) : Bruno showed improvement, delivering better crosses into the box than Zaidu Sanusi managed against Tanzania.

Midfielders and forwards

Wilfred Ndidi: (7.5/10)The Super Eagles captain was relentless off the ball and crowned his performance with his first-ever AFCON goal for Nigeria.

Alex Iwobi (7.5/10) : Iwobi was once again influential as Nigeria dominated possession and controlled the tempo throughout the match.

Frank Onyeka (7/10):  Onyeka impressed with his work rate, pressing aggressively and helping Nigeria maintain control against Tunisia.

Akor Adams (6/10): The Sevilla forward will be disappointed not to score or register an assist despite a strong performance, particularly in the first half.

Ademola Lookman (9.5/10): Lookman was outstanding yet again, scoring and providing two assists to drive Nigeria to victory.

Victor Osimhen (9/10) : The Galatasaray striker will be pleased to open his account at the tournament, ending a seven-match goal drought at AFCON. 

The substitutes

Chidera Ejuke (5/10): The Sevilla winger came on for Frank Onyeka in the final eleven minutes of the match.

Moses Simon (5/10): Simon was introduced to help Nigeria see out the victory as Tunisia increased the pressure late on.

Chidozie Awaziem (N/A): The Nantes defender replaced Ademola Lookman in stoppage time, two minutes after the end of normal regulation.
