Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare scored his second Premier League goal of the season in Wolves’ 3-1 defeat to Chelsea at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday evening.
The 25-year-old netted in the 54th minute, calmly converting a rebound inside the box past Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sánchez, giving Wolves a brief lifeline after falling behind 3-0.
This marked Arokodare’s second league goal of the season, following his first against Arsenal earlier in the campaign, underlining his growing importance to the Wolves attack.
The former Genk forward has previously found success against Chelsea, scoring in the Carabao Cup last October in a 4-3 defeat, showing his knack for troubling the Blues’ defence.
Chelsea controlled the game from early on, with Cole Palmer opening the scoring in the 13th minute from a penalty.
He added a second in the 35th minute and completed his hat-trick three minutes later, assisted by Marc Cucurella, putting the visitors 3-0 ahead.
Wolves struggled to respond until Arokodare’s goal, but it proved insufficient to turn the tide.
Chelsea held on to secure a comfortable victory, while Arokodare’s strike offered a rare moment of encouragement and hope for Wolves’ fans.
