Super Eagles striker Onuachu risks being banned by Turkish Football Federation

Paul Onuachu risks being banned by the Turkish Football Federation ahead of Trabzonspor’s high-stakes Süper Lig clash with Beşiktaş, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The Nigeria international will not be able to play against the Black Eagles on Sunday, December 14 if he is cautioned in today's matchday fifteen clash with Göztepe.

In the Turkish Süper Lig, a player is handed a one-match ban upon accumulating four yellow cards, with the threshold resetting at different stages of the season.

Onuachu has already been cautioned three times this campaign, receiving bookings against Samsunspor, Fenerbahçe and Eyüpspor.

Despite this disciplinary risk, Onuachu's form in front of goal remains exceptional.

The towering striker has netted 11 goals in 14 appearances, leading the Golden Boot race ahead of prolific Uzbekistan forward Eldor Shomurodov, who has ten goals.

Super Eagles manager Eric Chelle has taken note of Onuachu's impressive performances, including him in a 54-man provisional squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The FC Ebedei product previously represented Nigeria at the 2019 and 2023 AFCON tournaments, though he has yet to feature under Chelle, with his last of 25 caps coming against Benin in June 2024.
