Talented midfielder of Nigerian descent Mishel Nduka made his UEFA Youth League debut on Wednesday afternoon as Arsenal fell to a 2–1 defeat against Club Brugge.
The schoolboy was one of three Nigerian players involved at The NEST Roeselare, joining defenders Josh Ogunnaike and Samuel Onyekachukwu in Arsenal's matchday squad.
Nduka's competitive debut for Arsenal U19s ended prematurely after he received a straight red card for a challenge on Club Brugge defender Axl Wins in the 32nd minute.
Prior to his dismissal, the combative midfielder had conceded two free-kicks for fouls on Okon-Engstler.
Arsenal took a narrow lead into the interval courtesy of Demiane Agustien, who finished smartly following an assist from Ogunnaike.
The visitors were undone in the final 12 minutes, with Yanis Musuayi levelling the score before Van Britsom netted the winner in the sixth minute of stoppage time.
Nduka ended his eight-year association with Charlton Athletic in September 2025 after signing a schoolboy deal with Arsenal, and he is expected to put pen to paper on a scholarship contract before the start of next season.
The youngster drew widespread praise last month after his brilliant hat-trick inspired Arsenal U16s to a 5–2 victory over Norwich City in the Premier League Cup.
