Enyimba goalkeeper John Noble started a new chapter in his career after he was named in the Super Eagles 24-man roster for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches.
A month ago, Noble was the hero for Enyimba against Rivers United, making a series of brilliant saves to make sure the People's Elephant remain in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr handed him a maiden call-up after running the rule over the 27-year-old goalkeeper in the continental fixture.
"It's a dream come true because I've just spent six months in the league and I have been invited to the Super Eagles which is the dream of every player once you are in the league playing that you'll one day be called up," said Noble.
"I put my best at every given time to see what can come out, I don't care what people are saying.
"When I got the invitation I was happy, it came through hard work."
Noble is competing with Maduka Okoye and Francis Uzoho to be in between the pipes against the Republic of Benin and it is believed that the Sparta Rotterdam youngster is top in Gernot Rohr's pecking order of goalkeepers.
"We the goalkeepers have our pattern of keeping, I am going to work hard and then the coach will decide.
"Trust me if I'm given the chance to represent the country I will put in extra effort to deliver for the country," Noble added.
Noble reported for international duty on Monday, few hours after he kept a clean sheet for Enyimba in a 1-0 win versus Sunshine Stars in a Nigeria Professional Football League clash at the Agege Stadium.
