Innocent Bonke has been omitted from the Lorient matchday squad that will be facing Paris Saint-Germain in a Ligue 1 clash at the Parc des Princes on Sunday evening.
The central midfielder suffered an injury during Nigeria's goalless draw against Ghana in Kumasi on March 25 but his omission has nothing to do with him failing to recover from the ailment.
The reason Bonke is unavailable for selection is due to accumulation of yellow cards, having received his fourth caution in 2022 in his last game before the international break against Strasbourg.
The former Malmo man, who landed in Lorient in the winter transfer market, was previously yellow carded in games against Montpellier, Stade Brestois and Clermont Foot.
Bonke has missed the chance to test himself against PSG superstars Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe who are in the 22-man squad picked by Mauricio Pochettino ahead of the match.
Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi is one of five players classed as strikers named in Lorient's traveling squad to the French capital.
The Parisian club are the only team unbeaten at home in the French Ligue 1 so far in 2021-2022.
