Wilfred Ndidi was on media duties on Sunday, on the eve of the Super Eagles' Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 clash with Mozambique's Mambas.
The Super Eagles head into Monday evening’s match at Stade de Fes as clear favourites, having won four of their five previous meetings with Mozambique, while drawing once.
Eric Chelle's side impressed in the group stage, claiming victory in all their matches, including a statement win over North African powerhouse Tunisia.
Although Mozambique were ranked 22nd in Africa in the year-end FIFA ranking, Ndidi emphasised that the southern African side should not be underestimated.
Asked to share his thoughts on the Mozambique team, Ndidi told reporters: "They are a very good team. They want to play, they are very aggressive, and they play like a team, so we’ve seen the team."
The midfielder added that the Eagles have studied Mozambique closely, highlighting their resilience and fighting spirit.
"We've watched the group-stage game; they really fight. The main focus is on us—how we approach the game, how we want it.
"Tomorrow you’ll see, so we just focus on the game. But they are a very good team. No team in this tournament should be underrated. No team at all."
Nigeria's only encounter with Mozambique at the Africa Cup of Nations came in the 2010 tournament, where the Super Eagles secured a 3-2 victory thanks to a brace from Peter Odemwingie and a goal from Obafemi Martins.
