'They have it' - Nigeria legend highlights Tunisia's strengths but insists they are beatable

Nigeria beach soccer legend Abu Azeez has revealed that the Super Eagles' second group match of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations will provide a true test of Nigeria credentials.

The Super Eagles defeated Tanzania's Taifa Stars 2-1 in their first game in Morocco but Saturday's clash with the Eagles of Carthage is more decisive than their opener.

Azeez warned that defeat against Tunisia would significantly complicate Nigeria’s path, piling pressure on the squad ahead of the final group match against Uganda.

Speaking on the Home Turf podcast, he said: "The game against Tanzania has come and gone. This one is against Tunisia, a better side. After winning the first match, the second game is more important because winning the second game sees them qualify for the next round.

"Losing the match against Tunisia will put pressure on the team ahead of the last group match. Any team can win at this stage of the tournament."

The last time the two nations met at the Africa Cup of Nations, the Super Eagles suffered a painful 1-0 loss in the round of 16.

Azeez urged the Super Eagles to approach the match with composure and tactical discipline, rather than seeking revenge.

"We should not look at revenge, take the game like a normal game but we want to win."

Highlighting Tunisia's strengths, Azeez pointed to their pace, physicality and technical quality, describing them as a side with a distinctly European style of play.

"We know the Tunisians are very fast and if you want physicality and technique, they have it. They play like Europeans, so we just need to do everything possible — being focused, 90 percent level of concentration.

"Try as much as possible to score first, second goal, which is very possible. Tunisians are not unbeatable. We can beat them and beat them well.

"We have to try not to concede first because I know the Nigerian squad. Conceding first will put them under pressure," he concluded.
