Super Eagles manager Eric Chelle has outlined what Nigeria must do to secure victory against Algeria at the Marrakech Stadium on Saturday.
Nigeria has been in impressive form throughout the tournament, securing four wins, netting twelve goals, and conceding only four.
Meanwhile, the Desert Foxes have also caught the eye, winning all their matches and conceding just one goal.
During his press conference on Friday, the Malian tactician stated that for the Super Eagles to win the high-stakes quarterfinal clash, they must score more goals than their opponents.
"To win this game, we have to score some goals," he said. "We analyze the game, we try to find the weakness of the opponent."
"We try to put in the heads of our team that we can pass by this door. This is the same every time, the same, and the coach of Algeria, this is the same."
Chelle emphasized that maintaining a strong team mentality will be crucial for the Super Eagles to execute their game plan effectively and achieve victory.
"Of course, we work on the weakness of Algeria, but this is the quarterfinal, this is a big competition, so your state of mind and mindset are very important because you have to manage the pressure, manage the opponent, and what your coach asks you," he added.
He, however, expressed confidence in the team's preparedness for the match, highlighting the significance of focused effort during training.
"We try to work on every day and every training session. This is why every time I talk about the training session. Once again, we have the last training session today, and I think we will be ready tomorrow," he said.
Chelle will be eager for Nigeria to claim victory and steer clear of a repeat of their 2019 AFCON performance in Egypt.
