Pep Guardiola has showered praise on Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen ahead of Manchester City's crucial UEFA Champions League clash against the Turkish giants on Wednesday night, describing the Nigerian forward as a 'top-class player'. 

Osimhen has been in blistering form for the Yellow-Reds in this season’s Champions League, scoring six goals in five appearances.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Guardiola highlighted Osimhen’s quality and the strength of the supporting cast around him.

"The quality they have. Osimhen is a top-class player. They link with him. Leroy [Sane] and both wingers are so quick. Gundo, Lemina, are experienced players," Guardiola told reporters.

The Manchester City boss also spoke highly of Galatasaray as a club, stressing that his side holds the Turkish champions in high regard.

"Galatasaray are one of the biggest clubs and they always have good players. We have to make an incredible effort with our fans," he added. 

Manchester City currently sit 11th on the league table and require victory to boost their chances of finishing in the top eight, which would secure automatic qualification for the Round of 16.

Galatasaray, meanwhile, are placed 17th and will also be chasing all three points as they look to strengthen their position and keep their hopes of reaching the knockout stage alive.
