Manager Thomas Tuchel has announced his starting lineup for Saturday evening's Champions League final against Manchester City at the Estádio do Dragão - Porto.
The German football tactician has decided against including England youth international of Nigerian descent Faustino Anjorin in the matchday 23.
While Mason Mount and Kai Havertz are starting for the Blues, Callum Hudson-Odoi,Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech are on the substitutes' bench, a decision that sees Anjorin, who is capable of playing as an attacking midfielder and winger, excluded from the squad.
Anjorin made his Champions League debut against Krasnodar last December and was a non-playing substitute against Atlético Madrid in the last sixteen second leg.
Ahead of the showpiece, some Nigerians took to social media to offer their support to Anjorin simply because he has Nigerian blood in his veins and eligible to represent the Super Eagles.
Here's what they are saying on Twitter :
@Nkem_dirim : "Leave Dem bro... A wise person will make research before coming here to answer you. Tino Anjorin, a proper baller/winger".
@drealtunmise : "We sef we get tino anjorin".
@saintbarry1 :"Faustino Adebola Anjorin played 80mins for Chelsea in the #championsleague Group H game against Krasnodar this season. The midfielder will get a medal if Chelsea wins tonight. So, a Nigerian, will most likely get a medal . Let's support our own".
@daveadedayo16 : "God wey do am for Chukwueze go do am for Tammy Abraham and Tino Anjorin. On GodFolded hands. Shey Oluwafikayomi Oluwadamilqre Tomori wa kere ni".
@Aj_Watches : "Tino Anjorin, Tamilore Abraham, Ngolo Kantebillahi and the rest of my Nigerian brothers are covered with the blood of Jesus tonight".
@AdebarePeace : "Nigeria should support Tino Anjorin for #UCL final".
@Denilscene : "Remember every Nigerian is winning any final this season , Faustino Adebola Rasheed Anjorin is a Nigerian, he plays for Chelsea & he’s in the #UCLFinal plz let’s support him , he deserves our full support".
@wickedman99 : "We’ll support Faustino Adebola Rasheed Anjorin. A Nigerian".
