According to UEFA, Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen continues to shine on the European stage, topping the UEFA Champions League league-phase rankings with three Player of the Match awards.
The Galatasaray forward has been in explosive form, delivering decisive performances that have placed him ahead of some of the biggest names in world football.
Osimhen earned his three awards in Galatasaray’s key victories over Liverpool, Bodo/Glimt, and Ajax Amsterdam, where his goals and leadership proved crucial.
His outstanding hat-trick against Ajax and earlier strikes against Liverpool and
Bodo/Glimt have also lifted him to the top of the Champions League goalscorer chart, where he leads with six goals.
The Nigerian forward sits alone at the summit of the Player of the Match standings, while several other elite players follow closely behind with two awards each.
The other players on the league-phase leaderboard, each with two Player of the Match awards, include Manchester City’s Phil Foden, Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane, Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe, Pafos defender Derrick Luckassen, Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk, Inter Milan’s Marcus Thuram, and Paris Saint-Germain full-back Nuno Mendes.
