Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly encouraged his Nigerian teammate Ademola Lookman to consider a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray, as rumours surrounding the Atalanta forward's future continue to intensify ahead of the January transfer window.
Lookman has endured a turbulent summer and has been widely linked with an exit from Atalanta, with Galatasaray emerging as a leading contender for his signature.
The move would potentially reunite the Nigerian duo at club level and bolster the attacking options of the Turkish champions.
According to Turkish outlet A Spor, as relayed by Habersarikirmizi, Osimhen personally advised Lookman to make the switch to Istanbul, describing the club as an ideal environment for him.
"If you want to come, Galatasaray is a great home and would be the right place for you," Osimhen told his international teammate.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray permanently in the summer following a standout loan spell, has quickly become a fan favourite.
The 26-year-old forward has been in remarkable form this season, scoring 12 goals in 16 appearances across all competitions for the Yellow-Reds.
Lookman, on his part, has begun rediscovering his rhythm after a slow start to the campaign.
The Nigerian winger has contributed two goals and one assist in his last five matches for Atalanta, signaling a return to the form that made him one of Serie A's standout performers last season.
Both players are currently with the Nigerian national team in Morocco as the Super Eagles fine-tune preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Nigeria will be aiming to secure a fourth continental title, with Osimhen and Lookman expected to play pivotal roles in the country's quest for glory.
