Both Wilfred Ndidi and Super Eagles hopeful Ademola Lookman started for Leicester City while former Manchester United winger Tosin Kehinde was also on the pitch from the off for the visitors.
The Foxes opened the scoring midway through the first half and it came from an unlikely source as Ndidi marked his 200th career appearance for Leicester City with a close range finish.
The Super Eagles midfielder found the back of the net via a deflection after a cutback from Lookman.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall had three really good attempts to get on the scoresheet but all of them were saved by goalkeeper Patrik Carlgren before Randers got level through Hammershøj-Mistrati, who slotted in unmarked after a low cross from Kehinde in the 45th minute.
In the second half, Randers were undone by two goals in six minutes as Harvey Barnes finished on the spin for 2-1 and Patson Daka increased the lead when he tapped in the rebound after Tielemans' effort was parried.
In a double change made by Brendan Rodgers, Kelechi Iheanacho came on hoping to add to his five goals in all competitions so far this season and Ndidi was replaced at minute 65.
