Premier League giants Arsenal have reportedly informed teenage Nigerian forward Nefeye Osaze that he will not be offered a new contract ahead of the 2026-2027 season.
It is the time of year when English clubs make decisions regarding their new intake of academy scholars for next season.
Under Premier League regulations, all players in their U17 year must begin the 2026-2027 campaign on a scholarship agreement before becoming eligible to sign their first professional contract on or after their 17th birthday.
According to respected Arsenal youth team expert Jeorge Bird, the Gunners have told Osaze he will not be granted a scholarship deal.
Osaze began his footballing journey at Lagos-based grassroots side City Sports School, joining at the age of six in 2017, before relocating to England in 2022.
A few months after arriving at Arsenal's Hale End Academy from Slough Town's youth set-up following a successful trial, he played a part in helping the young Gunners win the Premier League U13 National Cup.
Ethan Nwaneri's brother Emerson and former Charlton Athletic schoolboy Mishel Nduka are expected to receive scholarship offers.
