Lokomotiv Moscow Call Off Pursuit Of Emenike After He Lied About His Wages
Published: June 15, 2015
Emmanuel Emenike’s proposed move to Lokomotiv Moscow has collapsed because the Fenerbahce forward lied about the wages he is currently earning at the Turkish Super Lig side.
The online edition of Fanatik has reported that the Nigeria international claimed that he was paid an annual salary of 3 million euros and demanded 3.5 million euros from the Russian club during negotiations.
But officials of The Railwaymen contacted their Turkish counterparts and they were told that Emenike gave inaccurate information, and they put his annual pay packet at €2.2 million.
Lokomotiv Moscow are believed to be in the market for a forward following their sale of Dame N’Doye to Hull City in the January transfer window.
Emmanuel Emenike has been linked with a possible move to China this summer.
