Shola Ameobi has started training with Huddersfield Town, with a view to a possible move to the Championship club this month.
The transfer window in England closed for business on Tuesday but the former Newcastle hero was a free agent by then, meaning a transfer to the John Smith’s Stadium can still go through.
According to the well informed Huddersfield Daily Examiner, manager of The Terriers, Chris Powell, ran the rule over Ameobi in a scrimmage sometime this week.
But Huddersfield Town remained coy when contacted to verify the reports linking the attacker with a move to the club.
