Exclusive : Swansea City Miss Out On Signature Of Emenike
Published: January 30, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Swansea City had explored the possibility of bringing Emmanuel Emenike to the Liberty Stadium before West Ham leapfrogged them in the race for the services of the Fenerbahce striker.
The Swans were willing to offer Emmanuel Emenike a contract and meet his asking price, thought to be in the region of ten million euros, only for negotiations to collapse.
Crystal Palace were also in the running for the former Nigeria national-teamer but are set to miss out , with the player reportedly in London undergoing a medical, a prerequisite before completing his move to the Hammers.
The deal taking the 28-year-old to the Boleyn Ground would have been sealed before now but Fenerbahce insisted on selling him outright whereas their English counterparts were keen on a loan deal with a purchase option inserted.
United Arab Emirates team Al Ain had agreed to pay the Yellow Canaries 3.5 million euros rental fee when he joined the club last summer.
