Nigeria Football Federation's Take On Enyeama World Cup Inclusion : It's Up To Rohr
Published: October 25, 2017
Nigeria Football Federation General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi had reiterated that Gernot Rohr has the final decision to make about the recall or introduction of any Super Eagles player, with Vincent Enyeama inclusive.
The ex-Super Eagles skipper had long called time on an illustrious international cafeer with the national team but with Nigeria having qualified for the World Cup Mundial next year in Russia, most faithfuls had felt it was within reason if he is recalled, with his quality never in doubt in any way.
Their was some contrasting opinions to that though, as some had equally felt his coming back might instigate a captaincy row with current skipper,Obi Mikel and might create discord in the Eagles camp.
But Sanusi had moved quickly to clear the air on such matters, insisting that the NFF would not in any way meddle in the affairs of the German tactician in who he wants or does not want in the team.
''The NFF does not interfere in the choice of players or goalkeepers for the national teams,” Sanusi told the Guardian.
''We had given Rohr the free hand to pick whoever he feels capable of playing in the Super Eagles. I won’t say we are in support of his decision to bring back Enyeama neither will I say we are against it.
''Rohr’s decision is final as far as such issue is concerned.''
It would be recalled that Enyeama had pulled the curtain on his Super Eagles association back in 2015 after a fractious relationship with then Super Eagles gaffer, Sunday Oliseh.
