Young GK Francis Uzoho Dropped By New Deportivo Coach Vs Las Palmas
Published: October 26, 2017
New Deportivo de La Coruña coach Cristobal Parralo has given the biggest hint yet that young Nigerian goalkeeper Francis Uzoho is not in his immediate plans after omitting him from his first line-up for the Copa del Rey clash against Las Palmas.
The alarm bells ringing at the former Golden Eaglets glovesman is the fact that he's not even in the match day squad despite being in tip-top condition.
Uzoho had started Deportivo de La Coruña's last two matches in the Spanish La Liga with Pepe Mel in the dugout.
Cristobal Parralo has opted to start the experienced Poland international goalkeeper Przemysław Tytoń, while Romania star Costel Pantilimon has been named on the bench in case of any eventuality.
Between them the two 30-year-olds have made six appearances for La Coruña in the Spanish top-flight this campaign.
On Tuesday, Parralo was promoted from coaching the reserve team and will manage the first team until the end of the season.
Super Eagles goalkeeper coach Alloy Agu hinted that Uzoho will be invited to the national team provided that he keeps playing regularly for the first team of Deportivo.
