Man City Whizkid Of Nigerian Descent, Wanted By Germany, Scores On England U18 Debut
Very promising Manchester City midfielder Felix Nmecha had a perfect debut for England U18s after scoring in their 2-2 draw with Uruguay in their opening game of the Panda Cup on Wednesday, May 23.

Nigeria, where his father hails from, Germany and England are poised to engage in a three-way tug-of-war over his international future but the Europeans are ahead of the African team in the race for his services.

About two weeks after Nmecha earned his third cap for Germany's U18 team, he made his maiden appearance for the Young Lions, with manager Neil Dewsnip naming him and Tottenham Hotspur defender of Nigerian descent Timothy Eyoma in the starting line-up for today's game at the Shuangliu Sports Centre (Sichuan, China).

Felix Nmecha put the Young Lions 2-1 up in the 72nd minute but they were denied a win when Nicolás Schiappacasse restored parity.

Prior to his first game for England U18s, Hamburg-born Nmecha had appeared for the Young Lions at U16 level.

His sibling, Manchester City first-teamer Lukas Nmecha, has been named in the England U21 squad for the prestigious Maurice Revello Tournament which begins this month in France.
