SK Brann Still Hopeful Of Signing Ex-Manchester United Talent Kehinde
Published: July 24, 2018Norwegian Premier League club SK Brann have not thrown in the towel in their pursuit of former Manchester United starlet Tosin Kehinde.
Super Eagles striker Junior Lokosa and Kehinde were scheduled to start trials with SK Brann this week, but the midfielder has not yet traveled to Scandinavia unlike his compatriot.
The 20-year-old is currently unemployed after choosing not to extend his contract with Manchester United after the club failed to guarantee him first-team opportunities in the new season.
''There was something about his visa, which meant he could not travel now. That's not the way we have left the case. It is up to date that he is coming, but it is hard to say anything now,'' Brann sports manager Rune Soltvedt told BT.no.
Kehinde's camp continue to deny that he will train with SK Brann with a view to being offered a contract, so allnigeriasoccer.com contacted a Norwegian football expert to provide his view on whether or not the player will be tested.
''No Norwegian Premier League club will sign Kehinde until he is tested, if they want him so much, they will look for a way to bring him to Norway but he must pass the trials when he gets there,'' he told allnigeriasoccer.com.
''If Junior Lokosa, who was named in Nigeria's provisional World Cup roster, is undergoing trials, who is Kehinde?''
Though there are unconfirmed reports linking Kehinde to bigger clubs, SK Brann are hoping that he will come to Norway later this week, probably on Thursday.
