Iwobi And Troost-Ekong Join Aina On Super Eagles Injury List, Trio Will Not See Action Vs Seychelles
Published: September 04, 2018The Nigeria Football Federation have confirmed everyone's worst fears about the nonavailability of Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi for the upcoming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Seychelles and the Super Eagles.
The Federation reported on Monday evening that the Gunners number seventeen will not show up in Seychelles owing to 'injury'
On Sunday, Arsenal coach Unai Emery had revealed that Iwobi was not in the traveling party for the Premier League clash against Cardiff City due to illness.
It is also confirmed that Italian-based duo, Udinese's William Troost-Ekong and Torino's Ola Aina, will not see action against the Pirates after picking up injuries in the last round of matches in the Serie A.
Technical manager of Udinese, Daniele Pradè, told UdiNews TV that Troost-Ekong suffered an injury during the match against Fiorentina and thanked the Nigeria Football Federation for allowing the defender to remain in Udine.
Udinese are optimistic that their summer signing from Bursaspor would have fully recovered before they face Torino on September 15.
Everton loanee, Henry Onyekuru is the only Super Eagle in camp at the moment but the other invitees are expected in Seychelles as from Tuesday morning.
