Nigeria U17s Suffer Injury Blow : First Choice RB Left Out Of UEFA Assist Tournament Squad
Published: February 28, 2019Five-time world champions, Golden Eaglets have been hit with a massive injury blow ahead of their trip to Turkey for the upcoming UEFA Assist U17 International Tournament which begins on Monday, March 4.
First-choice right back Oluwatimilehin Lawrence Adeniyi is racing against time to be fit to play at the U17 AFCON in Tanzania after suffering a tibia injury in training.
''Everybody thought it was bad from the reckless tackle. I believe it's an injury that touched the tibia,'' Nigeria U17 coach Manu Garba disclosed.
''According to the Medical Director, he said the boy is lucky. It will take him very few weeks for him to recover.

Adeniyi, who was Nigeria's youngest outfield player in the WAFU-UFOA Zone B qualifiers, started all the four matches in Niger, scoring in the 5-1 rout of Ivory Coast.
