In the Championship, Tammy Abraham ended a three-game goal drought by getting on the scoresheet as Aston Villa thrashed Derby County 4-0.

Abraham tapped home at the back post to make it 2-0 in the 37th minute and it became 3-0 a minute before half-time when Hourihane scored off an assist from the Chelsea loanee.

At AESSEAL New York Stadium in South Yorkshire, Super Eagles star Semi Ajayi was the star of the show as Rotherham United registered a 3-2 win against Blackburn Rovers.

The defensive midfielder steered his header beyond Raya to open the scoring in the 2nd minute and made it three goals in two games in the 83rd minute with another unstoppable header.

Oghenekaro Etebo has finally ended his goal drought for Stoke City after finding the net in a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest. It was his 28th appearance across all competitions since joining the club in the summer of 2018.

The number eight fired beyond Pantilimon following a great counter-attacking move to put the Potters ahead on 15 minutes.

In League One, Bright Enobakhare's goal on the hour mark was enough for Coventry City to claim all three points against Accrington Stanley at Wham Stadium.

The Wolves loanee slotted into the bottom corner after Coventry City won the ball back on the halfway line.

Still in the division, Hope Akpan scored what turned out to be a consolation goal for Bradford City as they suffered a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Portsmouth.

The out-of-favour Nigeria national-teamer stabbed home a loose ball to make it 2-1 in the 65th minute.

In League Two, John Akinde's brace inspired Lincoln City to a 2-1 away win at Forest Green Rovers.

Akinde nodded into the far corner to restore parity for the visitors in the 13th minute and went on to net the winner from the spot eleven minutes from time.

Finally, Adebayo Azeez netted on his home debut after 14 minutes as Newport County beat Carlisle United 2-0 at Rodney Parade.
