Rangers interested in loan and permanent deal for England U20 star of Nigerian descent

Scottish Premiership powerhouse Glasgow Rangers are ready to make a move for Aston Villa's England U20 international midfielder of Nigerian descent Tim Iroegbunam who is currently on loan at Queens Park Rangers, according to reports.

Football Insider claims that Rangers are interested in both a loan and a permanent deal for the youngster in the summer.

Rangers are ready to bring him over to Scotland due to his past relationship with their manager, Michael Beale, who was formerly in charge of QPR.

It was Beale who took him on loan to QPR at the start of the 2022/2023 campaign.

He has made 32 appearances for the Hoops in the Championship, having started 28 games and coming on as a substitute four times.

Iroegbunam has also recorded two goals for Queens Park Rangers, one of which included a brilliant solo strike against Watford in March.

The powerful central midfielder joined Aston Villa in 2021 and went on to make his Premier League debut in the Villans' 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on February 26, 2022, when he came on as a substitute for Philippe Coutinho.

Rangers have in their ranks exciting striker Thompson Ishaka and former Flying Eagles midfielder Nnamdi Oforboh.
