Super Eagles-eligible striker scores hat-trick for Brentford in friendly v Brighton & Hove

Super Eagles-eligible striker Kevin Schade was the standout performer as Brentford thrashed Brighton & Hove 4-1 in a behind-closed-doors friendly at the Robert Rowan Performance Centre on Monday.

The Germany U21 international played the last eighteen minutes of the Bees' 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in their Premier League opener on Sunday.

And a day later, he got much-need game time ahead of Brentford's upcoming fixtures, lasting 81 minutes on the pitch against the Seagulls.

Schade broke the deadlock after twelve minutes as he converted a pass from Mads Roerslev and doubled the advantage late on in the first half.

After missing a penalty and failing to score from the rebound, the former Freiburg man got his hat-trick in the closing stages when he rolled the ball into the bottom corner.

Joining Schade in Brentford's starting lineup were two other youngsters of Nigerian descent in the shape of Val Adedokun and Michael Olakigbe, who was lively during the game and came close to scoring on at least two occasions.

Brighton & Hove fielded a youthful side consisting of U21 players, including 2019 Golden Eaglets invitee Odel Offiah, who was omitted from the matchday squad against Luton Town this past weekend.

The 21-year-old Schade joined Brentford initially on loan in the January transfer window and the transfer was made permanent this summer.
