Monaco and Tottenham Hotspur have not tabled official bids to sign prolific striker Gift Orban
Published: August 15, 2023Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that speculation in the local press linking KAA Gent striker Gift Orban with an imminent transfer to French Ligue 1 club Monaco is wide of the mark.
It was suggested that the Principality club were set to sign Orban from the Jupiler Pro League side for a transfer fee of £30 million (equating to N29.2 billion in Nigerian currency) plus add-ons.
Although Orban is appreciated by top teams in France including Lille, it is understood that Monaco are not in talks with the 21-year-old over a possible transfer and no bid has been made, as it stands.
In recent days, Tottenham Hotspur have tested the waters regarding the signing of Orban, having opened a line of communication with the player's camp, but the Premier League club have not yet firmed up their interest by making an official bid to Gent.
The north London club are logically in the market for a prolific centre-forward after the sale of their iconic player Harry Kane to Bayern Munich and Orban's profile ticks all the right boxes.
Since turning professional, the 2023 Nigeria's Olympic national team invitee has directly participated in 53 goals (44 goals, 9 assists) in 50 games combined for Stabæk Fotball and Gent.
Orban has approximately four years left on is contract with Gent and is valued in the region of 30 million euros by the East Flanders club.
