Tottenham LB Udogie joins Chelsea and Liverpool stars, 7 others in Alan Shearer's PL TOTW
Published: August 28, 2023Super Eagles-eligible left-back Destiny Udogie has been named in Alan Shearer's Premier League Team of the Week for matchday three.
He joins Liverpool striker Darwin Núñez, Chelsea stars Malo Gusto and Raheem Sterling and seven others in the Premier League Best XI.
Udogie played a vital role in Tottenham Hotspur's 2-0 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday and bagged his assist in the top flight before he subbed out in the closing minutes.
The 20-year-old provided the assist for Tottenham's second goal in the 63rd minute when he played a quick one-two with Son Heung-min before squaring the ball into the path of Dejan Kulusevski who tucked the ball into the net.
The Italian-Nigerian defender is one of the two Spurs players in the team with James Maddison being the other.
Wolverhampton Wanderers, Aston Villa, West Ham United, Newcastle United, Fulham and Crystal Palace have contributed one player each to the Premier League Team of the Week
