After omission from England's Young Lions squad, former Flying Eagles invitee scores for Chelsea U18s

Former Flying Eagles invitee Chizaram Ezenwata was among the scorers as Chelsea came from two goals down to beat Reading in an U18 Premier League thriller staged at Cobham on Saturday.

Four players of Nigerian descent were named in the matchday squads, with defender Riley Ebho and Larry Omoregie starting for the Blues and the Royals respectively, while Ezenwata and Yisa were included among Chelsea's substitutes.

Rabbi Ntege found the net in the 13th and 41st minutes to give Reading a 2-0 lead at the interval.

With Chelsea U18s coach Dan Hogan seeking a response, Ezenwata, an England U18 international, came off the bench to replace Ebho after the break.

After Jashayde Greenwood reduced the deficit with six minutes remaining, Ezenwata struck a minute later, drilling a low shot past the Reading goalkeeper to level the score.

Chelsea snatched all three points at the death as Kobe Barbour fired an unstoppable strike into the net.

Ezenwata's goal took his U18 Premier League tally to thirteen and he has scored against nine different teams this season, including Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Arsenal, Brighton (2), West Brom (2), Tottenham Hotspur, Ipswich, Reading (3) and Norwich City.

The tri-national forward was not selected in England's Young Lions squads for their internationals in March.
