According to a report that emanated via the Telegraph UK, Arsenal are interested in signing David Neres in the summer transfer window.
The media outlet reported that the Gunners are showing interest in the young Ajax winger and they are ready to spend huge money in order to beat Everton and Borussia Dortmund to his signature.
This will definitely be an impressive news to many Arsenal fans, however, it comes as bad one to Gunners youth-teamer Xavier Amaechi who is on the verge of breaking into Unai Emery's setup.
Amaechi, 18, is tipped by many pundits to make his first-team debut next season due to his fine and consistent performances for the Gunners U23 side.
Unfortunately, Arsenal's decision to chase after Neres's signature means there will be an additional attack-minded player at Emirates Stadium, hence, Amaechi's chance of promotion to the first team has become slimmer and more difficult.
The 22-year-old is a right winger just like Amaechi, meaning Unai Emery will have no option but to ignore the Nigeria-eligible youngster in his plans for the next season.
Should Neres eventually join Arsenal, the England youth international could be sent out on loan to any interested suitor before the start of 2019-20 season.
Alex Iwobi is likely to be affected by the Gunners decision to chase after Neres signature because the Brazilian will become a threat to his chances of making Emery's starting XI as the Brazil international can also be used a left winger.
