'You're not bigger than Galatasaray' - Former Besiktas midfielder sends message to Osimhen

Former Beşiktaş midfielder Sinan Engin has issued a warning to Victor Osimhen, insisting the forward must not place himself above Galatasaray.

The Nigeria international has come under heavy criticism following a below-par display in Galatasaray’s recent outing against Samsunspor — a match that could have sealed the title with two games to spare.

Yunus Akgün, assisted by Osimhen, opened the scoring after eight minutes, but Samsunspor responded through Marius Mouandilmadji and Cherif Ndiaye to take a 2–1 lead.

Galatasaray’s task was made more difficult in the 63rd minute when goalkeeper Günay Güvenç was sent off for handling the ball outside the area, following a poor back pass from Osimhen.

Although Engin acknowledged the striker's outstanding performances during his loan spell last season, he expressed frustration over what he perceives as a dip in discipline and decision-making.

Speaking on Beyaz Futbol channel, he said: "Osimhen is not bigger than Galatasaray. He played brilliantly during his loan spell, I admired him. But now he's arguing with the referee and his teammates.

"He's playing incredibly carelessly. How can he pass to the centre-back? What kind of complacency is that my friend? Today, the Galatasaray team may have played with the wrong defensive setup, they may have left themselves exposed."

In spite of Engin's criticism, Osimhen remains highly influential for Galatasaray, having contributed either a goal or an assist in each of his last eleven Süper Lig appearances.
