Belgian-Nigerian striker celebrates new deal with goal for Southampton B

Kazeem Olaigbe was on target against Birmingham City in the Premier League 2 on Monday, six days after signing a new deal with Southampton.

The new agreement will keep the Belgian-Nigerian attacker at the St Mary's Stadium until June 2024.

The Saints B team were two goals ahead after 32 minutes before the Blues netted three times to secure all points.

Olaigbe fired confidently into the bottom corner to give Southampton a two-goal advantage but Josh Williams gave Birmingham City a lifeline when he pulled a goal back in the 37th minute.

Wakefield bagged the equaliser on 66 minutes after Olaigbe's pocket was picked near the center circle and Hurst completed the turnaround with four minutes to go.

A Belgium U19 international, Olaigbe is Southampton B's leading scorer in the Premier League 2 with ten goals and the highlight of his season so far was netting a brace against League Two side Crawley Town in the EFL Trophy.

He was an unused substitute in Southampton's 3-2 win over Swansea City in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup last month - his first and only call-up to the first team so far.
