Blackburn Rovers fullback Ryan Alebiosu has joined the Super Eagles camp ahead of Tuesday’s international friendly against Egypt in Cairo.
The 23-year-old, a product of Arsenal’s Hale End Academy, received his first senior national team call-up following a series of impressive performances for the Championship side.
Alebiosu has registered one goal and two assists in 21 appearances across all competitions this season.
Alebiosu arrived at the team’s base early on Tuesday morning, taking the total number of players in camp to 22.
Other players already in camp include Francis Uzoho, Stanley Nwabali, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Amas Obasogie, Semi Ajayi, Ademola Lookman, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Igho Ogbu, Tochukwu Nnadi, Zaidu Sanusi, Paul Onuachu, Frank Onyeka, Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Bruno Onyemaechi, Cyril Dessers, Akor Adams, Chidera Ejuke, and Raphael Onyedika.
The friendly against Egypt forms part of Nigeria’s preparations for the 2025 AFCON, scheduled to be held in Morocco.
The Super Eagles will open their Group C campaign against Tanzania on December 23, before facing Tunisia on December 27 and Uganda in their final group match on December 30.
Chelle will be hoping to use the tournament to guide Nigeria to a fourth AFCON title, as the team looks to make amends for the disappointment of failing to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
