Leicester City coach Brendan Rodgers is hoping the return of two of his key players Wilfred Ndidi and Jamie Vardy can help the Foxes achieve their goal of finishing among the top teams in the English Premier League.
Ndidi's absence from the Leicester City squad coincided with their dip in form, with the King Power Stadium outfit taking only two points from the five games the Nigeria international missed through injury in 2020.
The holding midfielder is now back to full fitness and helped the Foxes beat a stubborn Birmingham City side in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Wednesday night.
Speaking ahead of the visit of Aston Villa, Rodgers told reporters at Friday's press conference : "Vardy and Ndidi are two fantastic players, but our focus is on the positives and looking forward.
"Because of the level of consistency, we’ve had a blip. I had a much better feeling from the team in the cup game.
"I know it’s only a matter of time before the team are back to their best. We’re in a fantastic position".
With ten matches left before the end of the 2019-2020 season, Leicester City hold an eight-point lead over fifth placed Manchester United., while Chelsea in fourth are five points behind the 2016 champions.
