Chelsea looking to cash in on Southampton-linked winger Anjorin to generate transfer funds

Faustino Anjorin could be ending his fourteen-year association with Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

According to Evening Standard, the world champions are looking to cash in on more homegrown players to generate funds for the signing of new players in the summer.

The club-record acquisition of Romelu Lukaku was funded by the sales of former Nigerian Federation targets Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori, plus Kurt Zouma and Marc Guehi.

Anjorin is one of the current academy graduates being considered for sales, along with Armando Broja.

The England U20 international of Nigerian descent was linked with a switch to the Saints in the January transfer window but ended up joining Huddersfield Town after his loan spell at Lokomotiv Moscow was cut short.

With only five first team appearances under his belt, the last of which came against Barnsley in February 2021, it is believed that Anjorin is not in the plans for manager Thomas Tuchel for next season.
